Vistant

In December 2023, I went garage sailing (a usual pasttime I enjoy on weekends), and left a sale with two Nintendo Switch Joycons, a copy of Super Smash Brothers Brawl, two loose airpods, and a Dell XPS M1330. She was missing two pieces for the hinge, the protective cover for the hard drive, an actual hard drive, and had a big ugly city sticker from Texas on top of it alongside a completely fried battery. I paid $1 for the unit alongside the matching original charging cord and (upon purchasing a hard drive and """""""legally""""""" obtaining a copy of Windows XP SP 3), I was cruising in no time.

Originally priced at $2000 (and purchased by me for the steep price of $1), the Dell XPS M1330 was a premium laptop for its release in 2007. I have yet to upgrade the internals from it's configuration when I obtained it. What I did do, however, is intentionally downgrade myself from the intended OS (or upgrade, depending how you look at it) from Windows Vista, to XP. Hence the name, Vistant. Hell, my dad even found me a period matching "Dell" Laptop bag. Thanks dad!

So my main beast is this lovely laptop. At another estate sale I was at, I found this carrying bag that was rather heavy, so I unzipped it and found a rather lovely looking Toshiba Satellite C675-S7200. Unlike my beloved Vistant, this fella came with it's original hard drive and Windows 7 installed. Seeing as how I really wanted to get a laptop running the OS, this was a really good deal. I know nothing of the original owner, aside from what little the "SAM" user had (and I mean little), but in honor of those who came before me, I have kept the name that was christened so long ago... SAM-PC

Priced around $400, and purchased with bag for $10, I haven't had to do a lot of upgrades. I did upgrade the ram from the orignal 4 gigs to a whopping 8 gigabytes, and I am considering upgrading the hard drive considering how much I use it (and how full it is of my music, movies, memes, etc.). If I do end up doing that, I'll probably also try to install Windows 10 on a seperate partition, just so I have it as an option.
